Practices
Currently and as more land comes into production, holistically responsible soil management will remain one of our core values. To this end we aim to use techniques to encourage the biological life of the soil. We will do this by being mindful of soil disturbance, addressing deficiencies in the soil, and implementing mycorrhizal-friendly strategies. We also use cover crops and interplant within crops to keep our species count as high as possible.

Studies and our experience show the result of such techniques are vigorous plants that are naturally disease and pest resistant and have greater yields. This living soil can in turn produce flavorful, nutritious, and superbly high-quality food. Customers can literally taste the difference. A customer said, “They were very sweet and flavorful, the best carrots we bought this year and we’ve bought them from a lot of different farmers.”
