Grown on locally sourced substrate, these mushrooms are produced indoors year round. I purchase PNW sourced liquid culture syringes and create my own grain spawn, which is split and spread into bags of substrate. The mushroom culture breaks down and colonizes the substrate. Once fully colonized, bags are cut open and exposed to light, humidity and fresh air triggering the fruiting process.

In addition to keeping organic waste materials out of landfills, the regenerative power of fungi creates nutrition for communities and gives the raw materials a new life in the form of rich compost returned to the earth.
